The HF Bands have been wrecked by the Flare but there have been a few 
openings.
i think you just need the cabality to interface whith what ever you are
driving into. These deployments must be flexable.
One thing that would also help would be GPS.
Here is additional info from KM6BA who just left the area.

I used my mapping GPS throughout my week in the area. It was critical 

for finding our way, convoy routes, and even giving coordinates for 

shelter locations. (which the ARC often did not have)


First thing before moving I would upload maps for the area and setup 

routes & waypoints to help us get there.


I also sent mobile GPR's via ALE while moving, which I think Bonnie 

might have posted. Probably the most the town of Gauthier has ever been 

seen on the internet!
