I received the following message from KG6FBT, Dave Huls, who would like
information on zoning and CC&Rs in the Colorado Springs area. I hope some
of you will impart your knowledge and experience and give him your best
suggestions/recommendations. I already suggested he contact both the El
Paso County and City of Colorado Springs zoning departments.
Thanks!

Subject: Colorado Springs restrictions on Ham antennas
I have been considering a move to the Colorado Springs area within the
next three years but would like to find out what the the restrictions are
regarding the erection of ham radio towers, vertical antennas, dipoles,
etc. I live in the San Diego, CA area and the restrictions here vary
greatly around the county. For example, I am going through a divorce, and
the house that I moved out of is in the city of San Diego proper where I
had to be stealthy about what I put up. I now live in the unincorporated
city of Lakeside within San Diego County and we can put up 25' towers
without permits and up to 200' towers with permits. Trouble is, with all
that has been happening in my life right now, my rig has been sitting in a
box for over a year now so I haven't been able to enjoy one of my favorite
hobbies.
I would greatly appreciate your input as I spend more time on 17, 20, and
40 meters than anywhere else and would like to put up a decent HF in
addition to a good VHF/UHF antenna if I moved to your city/county.
