Hi Les,
If you decide to call Electro Comm, you should contact Tom Wright at 800-954-6901. He is the local Sales Manager for them and is very good to work with. If you have any problems, let me know. CMRG has an account with them in case that becomes an issue.

Hi Les,

Unless Rohn has totally gone out of business (they were having bankruptcy
problems last year I believe), you should be able to get a hinged base
plate from Electro Comm in Denver (cheaper than HRO), phone number (303)
371-8121. The part number is BPH25G. I got one there about 2 years ago
(sorry - I still need it!).

Unless you plan on putting a bunch of beams on the tower, for 40 feet of
Rohn 25G you need three 48 foot guys - attached to the tower at the 35
foot level, with the guy anchors 32 feet from the tower base (assuming
level ground). Of course, with a hinged base, it makes sense to use 4
guys so that raising and lowering the tower requires fewer people. To
avoid resonance on Amateur bands, you will also want to break up the guy
wires with egg insulators (DO NOT use regular insulators!) at 12 foot
intervals.
