March Club Meeting - CSPD Air Support Unit

If you've been out operating mobile in the Springs area in the evenings,
chances are you've seen (and maybe heard) a critical piece of the
Colorado Springs Police Department's crime fighting resources - the
OH-58C helicopter of the CSPD Air Support Unit!  At the March club
meeting join CSPD Officer and Pilot Joe Schmaltz as he describes the
function and activities of the Air Support Unit.  You'll hear about the
ups and downs of flying all around the city in the name of the law at
night, and Officer Schmaltz will tell of some of the more unique calls
he has responded to.  Multiple modes of radio communications are
utilized aboard the helicopter - you'll learn about them all.  And be
sure to ask Officer Schmaltz about the "Beam of Justice" - it won't
replace your Yagi anytime soon!
