[PPRAANet] Foxhunt this weekend!!

Hello everyone,

A reminder that there will be a FOXHUNT this weekend!!  I have to drive
around town to find a suitable hiding spot, but the hunt will start at 1300
(1:00 pm) this Sunday, 19 September at a location to be determined.  The fox
will transmit in the 2 meter band.

This will be a hunt from vehicles, so you can either rig up a small beam on
the roof of your car (or truck, SUV, oxcart... whatever!), or you can
determine the transmit interval of the fox, drive carefully when it is not
transmitting, and pull over to the side of the road to get a bearing when it
starts.  Participants will be penalized for unsafe driving!

Remember that although the hunt will start with participants driving,
eventually you will have to leave the comfort of your vehicle and root out
the fox on foot, so don't forget your attenuators and handifinders!  The
winner will be awarded an impressive trophy to display until the next hunt.

Remember as well that you don't have to be licensed to hunt the fox.  This
is a great opportunity to get your spouse, kids or friends out to enjoy
Amateur Radio!

I will promulgate more information later in the week, but in the meantime
make sure you reserve Sunday afternoon in your calendar!
