Jamboree On The Air

This coming Saturday (Oct 16th) is Jamboree-On-The-Air
(http://www.arrl.org/FandES/ead/#scout) or JOTA. PPRAA and EOSS
(http://www.eoss.com) are sponsoring the Boy Scout from local Pikes
Peak Council and the Girl Scouts from the local Wagon Wheel Council.

Our operation will be Saturday, October 16th. We plan on starting at
7:30am and plan on taking down around 2:00pm The EOSS high-altitude
balloon launch is scheduled for 8:00am and it is normally back on sight
by noon

The USAFA-ARC are putting together 4 reusable kits for simple electronic
projects. But, the Cadets are scheduled for other training so will not
be available to help the scouts with the kits. We are in disparate need
of someone to help in this area.

We may have a couple antenna building hands-on activities as well. But
we may need additional help in this area as well.

Here is what I have so far:
    HF - Al - vo1no
Electronic Kits - (USAFA dropping off)
    EOSS
VHF operators (include 3 youth very cool !)
QRP camping configuration (show um how it's done camping)

Need:
    VHF/UHF station
IRLP/ILINK operator(s). The event is also called JOTI for
(Jamboree-On-The-Internet)
     APRS
     Fox Hunt people and transmitter(s)
     ATV
     Equipment and Operators
people to help with educational hand-on activities: electronics and
antennas

The location is Meadow Lakes airport. The airport is located on
Highway-24, 1.5 miles North of the Woodman, Highway 24 intersection. Do
NOT take the Judge Orr road, but the road just South of Judge Orr road.
For great instructions see the EOSS web site. This is a 2 story
building with EOSS operations center occurring in the lobby of the first
floor (the rest of the first floor is closed off to us). The
get-on-the-air radio stations and educational projects will be on the
second floor. AC power and running water, what more could we want!

NOTE: I'm going to try to get permission to set up antennas Friday
evening. So look for a message about joining the setup work group
coming to an email near you!

73,
   Dan
