Rick Brown (k0su) and I have been kicking around an idea of an active, 
hands-on, display of a radio enabled campsite.  Originally we were 
thinking about using a CW QRP rig, but as we talked we thought it would 
be more exciting in the scout's eyes to have a HF SSB QRP rig set up in 
a camping environment.

So here comes the begging part:  We are wondering if someone with a HF 
SSB QRP rig that is easy on batteries could help out or loan the rig to 
Rick?  The rig would be set up in a "car" camping camp site (vs. a 
backpacking camp site).

To expand on this idea, does anyone have small solar power charging 
system that could be used to augment the batteries?

We are thinking of something as large as the FT-815 or a small home 
built SSB rig.
