Hello everyone,
After reading all the e-mail I recently received, I thought I would make a comment. Not to blame anyone person or group of persons. I feel this situation could have been handled more professionally, and not air (dirty laundry) so to speak to members. I remember when I was in the US Army the first leadership principle in the officers handbook. TO BE TECHNICALLY AND TACTFULLY PROFICIENT was something we were taught to strive for.
In the future, maybe getting a member aside, and talking about the requirements of the job they hold, finding out if there is a problem, where the problem is, and then correcting the problem. Then if that doesn't work, suggesting that they resign the position, then advertise the position to be filled. Like , John Doe has resigned the position of bean counter, due to family commitments, Sharon Smith has volunteered to fill the position. Very simple.
Now I feel that would have been better for all concerned if it could have been handled that way. As of now there are hurt feelings on all sides I am sure. We have lost a member, will we lose others only time will tell. I hope not as PPRAA is a great club, great members, with alot to offer the Amateur radio society, and the public in general.
In closing I would like to thank Mr Dawson for volunteering to do the job in the first place. What ever happened, is past, did we learn anything from this situation, I hope so. It is time to move on, and continue to make this the best Amateur radio club in colorado.
