Hello everyone,
I'll be out of town for the next 10 days, but I wanted you all to know about
the Mountain Amateur Radio Club's 22nd annual Campfest on the weekend of
27 - 29 August.
The Campfest is a family-oriented weekend outing that features a
tailgate-style swapfest, VE testing, code-copying contests, a fox hunt, a
potluck dinner and much more. The grand prize is a Yaesu FT-817 HF/VHF/UHF
transceiver - that's a great little rig! The event will start at 3:00 pm on
Friday, 27 August at the Golden Bell Camp and Conference Center, 380 Country
Road 512 near Divide. To get there, take Highway 24 to Divide. Turn right
at the first (only?) light in Divide onto Highway 67/North Road. At the "Y"
in the road go left onto Country Road 51 (it will become Country Road 512).
The Golden Bell is about 3.5 miles on the left.
Tent and self-contained RV camping is $10.00 per day, while full hook-up RV
sites cost $20.00 per day. There are only 14 RV sites so you should reserve
as soon as you can! Indoor restrooms, showers and all other facilities
(swimming pool, gymnasium etc.) are available for all guests. Admission for
the Campfest is FREE! Vendors are charged a one-time $5.00 fee.
Shelley and I attended the Campfest last year and had a great time! In
fact, just to let you know how much I'm looking forward to it, I'm actually
leaving Canada early to come back in time for the Campfest!! Now that's
saying something!
For more information check the MARC website www.qsl.net/nx0g or contact Pete

I hope to see you there!
