There have been a bunch of those going around. I've received one from Ebay,
PayPal and Earthlink. Also there were about five or six others. I don't
use any of those services except Earthlink.

Do the right thing and report that, along with the headers and full text of
the email to ATT Worldnet so they can take actions.

It IS a scam. No ISP will send you an email like that. If you go to the
site and enter the information you will simply be giving your data to a
criminal. Also, there is a chance the site you went to had malicious code
that your browser will allow access to your machine through. Make sure you
run a virus scan now as well.

Subject: PPARES: ATT Worldnet billing scam

In the last several days I have received an email that looks like it is from
ATT Worldnet. the E-mail says they have had trouble processing my credit
card for the monthly fee. The e-mail asks for me to update my credit card
information. There is a link to a website to do this. Best I can tell this
is a phony, trying to get the credit card info. Att does not do this by
e-mail.

WORD TO THE WISE.
