All --
I purchased a VHF/UHF dual-band radio from Steve Boyette (KF4QVV) and he
mentioned he had some Motorola FRS and GMRS radios for sale. If anyone is
interested, his message and contact information is below. He's a good ham
to work with as far as buying items.
"Hopefully your recommendation will aid me as I continue selling these FRS
radios. I think I've still got 14 or 15 Motorolas with various bells &
whistles: VOX, private line, voice scrambler, built-in NOAA weather channels
with the severe weather alert feature. Some are 22 channel models: all 14
FRS freqs. plus 8 higher power GMRS channels. (1 watt instead of the
traditional 1/2 watt) If you know anyone who wants to save money on
Motorolas, please send them my way."
I carry a kit with 8 FRS handhelds and 1 FRS base station to use for
communicating with event organizers at public service events and non hams
during emergency operations. I've found it pretty handy to have at least a
couple of these around.
