I picked up the raffle tickets from the printer yesterday, and since we have our raffle license and all of the prizes in our possession, we're ready to sell raffle tickets for this year's hamfest raffle!
The hamfest is June 14 at the Lewis-Palmer High School, same as last year.
The absolutely best prizes offered by any hamfest in the state are:
1. A Yaesu FT-817 multi-mode portable HF/VHF/UHF transceiver, 160m-10m, plus 6m, 2m and 70cm
2. A Yaesu FT-8900R Quad Band mobile transceiver covering 2m, 70cm, 6m and 10m
(donated by the Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group)
3. A Yaesu VX-1R Ultra compact 2m/70cm handheld transceiver, w/RX capability from 0.5 MHz to 1,000 MHz
Raffle ticket prices are:
$1 gets you 1 ticket
$5 gets you 6 tickets
$10 gets you 15 tickets
$20 gets you 40 tickets (best buy - 50 cents a ticket!)
We have 3,999 tickets for sale and we hope to sell them all and have to go back and have more printed! Tickets will be on sale at the January club meeting, tomorrow, Jan 8, at the Leon Young Service Center, 1521 Hancock Parkway. Bring your checkbook or cash to buy chances to win these fantastic prizes!
See you at the meeting tomorrow!
Also, don't forget that tonight is the first night of the PPRAA ham radio classes taught by Frank McNally KF0WF. The classes begin at 7 pm at the El Paso County OEM, 305 S Union, and run Tue/Thu for 6 weeks, ending with a VE test session on Feb 13. PPRAA members are invited to stop by and support the class, introduce yourself to some of the students, or just check it out. If you've never seen these classes, you've got to visit at least one class. You'll be in for a treat. The class is excellent, and Frank was awarded the ARRL Instructor of the Year several years ago for the class.
