Hi All,
I just spoke with Martha at AMSAT HQ and she told me that the server in San
Diego, CA, had a hard disk failure Sunday morning. They are installing the
new disk now and should be operational later this afternoon.
The server belongs to the University of California and they let AMSAT have
disk space as available -- very nice of them! Unfortunately, we don't get
priority service when there is an outage, but we are getting a good deal --
its free.

Subject: [PPRAANet] amsat.org site down
Something's really strange going on at AMSAT. Their web page is off-line,
their bulletin-boards are down, their e-mail aliasing is not working.
I number of us have used our [email protected] for such a long time, to
have it not working for two days has really screwed things up. If you try
to e-mail someone with @amsat.org and it bounces back to you, try the same
call @arrl.net. Some of us, including myself, have more than one alias.
Tom N0NTX, since you're the AMSAT coordinator for this area, can you see if
you can find out what's going on? Maybe call back to MD and see if their
phones still work too?
