Some additional info ... The USAFA club has a callsign of K0MIC, and =
has
actually been around for quite a while, although it hasn't been too =
active.
I believe some PPRAA club members are even members of the cadet radio =
club.
Maybe? They have a web site at www.qsl.net/k0mic/ Brian Mork, the =
club
previous point of contact for the club, has been to at least one or two =
of
the PPRAA club picnics in past years, and had even brought some cadets =
to
our picnic.
Even though the cadets probably won't get too active in the community =
ham
activities because of their training requirements, I think it'd be =
great to
hear them on the air and talk with them this evening and in the future.

Linda Krause, K=D8DRK, asked if I would spread the word about a new =
radio
group she is working to develop for new hams at the Air Force Academy.
Several cadets have recently earned their licenses, but are a little =
shy
about getting on the air. She has scheduled a simplex net at 1900 =
tonight
(Thursday) on 146.490 and would appreciate anyone coming over and =
visiting
with the group.
I realize that this coincides with the PPRAA Simplex Net on 146.580 at =
the
same time, but maybe with a little coaxing, the two groups can get =
together
and visit.
Thanks!
