Field Day is here!
It's time for the Field Day HF back pack radio Freq Clock Experiment...
What is it?
HFpackers are always out in force for Field Day. Like last year, we
are using Field Day as a chance to introduce our friends to
lightweight HF portable technique, and the other operators around the
world who already enjoy it. The Freq Clock Experiment uses a schedule
to shift frequencies for QSOs. Everyone changes bands at the same
time. This provides a potential for many interesting QSOs at different
distances. Here's a chance to fire up some of those green manpack
radios you have laying around gathering dust. Get on there and talk
with some other packset operators.
Why are we doing it?
Fun. Enthusiasm. Information. Science. Goodwill.
When is it?
Today.
1600z~1800z Saturday 22 June,
2100z~2300z Sunday 23 June.
How does it work?
Operate using the HFpack Freq Clock
for 2 hours before Field Day starts
and again for 2 hours after Field Day ends.
What is the HFpack Frequency Clock?
HFpack Frequency Clock:
Minutes Past the Hour/ Freq(kHz) / Mode
=:00 / 14342.5 / USB or CW
=:10 / 3997.5 or 3687.5 / LSB or CW

Where is it?
Everywhere around the world.
Who is doing it?
Everyone is welcome. Base, mobile, portable.
You don't have to be a member of HFpack or a Field Day contest
station.
What happens after?
Your reports about the Freq Clock Experiment are invited on the HFpack
egroup before, during, and after the event. We hope to guage the
interest in Pedestrian and Bicycle mobile operation as a new "Class"
for Field Day categories.
