The Colorado Division of Wildlife has sent out
the following information regarding the Hayman Fire area restoration
project.  I thought I would pass it along as many of you might be
interested in helping or know someone else that would be interested.

Please note that ALL Coloraodoans are invited to help.  If you have
friends, relatives, neighbors or co-workers that want to help, please
pass the information on to them.

As I am not involved in the set-up or assignment for this project,
PLEASE be sure to register following the directions given below.  YOU
NEED TO PRE-REGISTER!

Hayman Fire Volunteer Restoration

Colorado Cares Day is an opportunity to give back to your community by
participating in a volunteer or community service project.

One of this year's projects involves fire restoration at the Hayman
Fire site. 
Volunteers will assist nature's process of healing by
stabilizing erosion, re-seeding the area and helping the forest regenerate.
Date:  Saturday   3 August......
Schedule    
8 a.m. to 9 a.m.         Registration at Manitou Lake Picnic Area
9 a.m. to noon   Volunteer restoration work at site
Noon to 1 p.m.   Lunch
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.         Continue volunteer restoration work at site
(optional)

Volunteers
We're in need of up to 1,000 volunteers. Children 10 years of age and
older are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteer work
will
range from light to moderate activity. All skills and abilities are
welcome.
No pets please.

Volunteer check-in will be from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Manitou Lake picnic
area.

Location
Volunteers will meet at Manitou Lake picnic area located 7 miles north
of
Woodland Park on Highway 67. The project site is approximately two
hours

from Denver. Allow plenty of drive time. Please carpool if possible.

*Directions:
Take I-25 to the US-24 West exit (Exit No. 141) towards Cimarron
Street
Keep left at the fork in the ramp
Turn left onto West Cimarron Street
West Cimarron Street turns into US-24
Go north on Highway 67 at Woodland Park
Project site is 7 miles north of Woodland Park on Highway 67

What to bring
*       Work gloves
*       Boots (or proper footwear)
*       Water
*       Sunscreen
*       Hat
*       Pants and long sleeved are suggested
*       Raingear is suggested

Refreshments
Drinks will be provided throughout the day. Lunch will also be
provided.
