The NWS Pueblo Skywarn Group (NPSG) is hosting NWS Skywarn Recognition Day
activities at NWS Pueblo this coming Friday and Saturday, December 6-7. All
amateurs in southern and southeastern Colorado are invited and encouraged to
attend. This event is taking off like a rocket, at last count there were
107 NWS Forecast Offices registered, up from about 80 last year.

All stations, equipment and antennas are being provided by NPSG. Setup (for
those who would like to help) will be Friday from 1300 to 1700; the event
runs 24 hours continuous from 1700 Friday to 1700 Saturday; teardown will be
Saturday from 1700 until finished.

"Night owls" are especially needed to help keep the stations on the air
overnight. Were excited that the new NPSG club call WXPUB has been
granted and will be used for the event. This is a really fun event and
there was an excellent article on pages 83-84 of the November QST Magazine
or you can visit the national website at http://hamradio.noaa.gov/.

Talk-In and facility access communications will be on the 146.835- (114.8 Hz
tone MAY be required) portable emergency repeater. This solar-powered unit
will be set up and operational at NWS Pueblo before noon on Friday and
operate throughout the event. All participants are encouraged to program
this frequency into their mobile and handheld radios.
