I think the hams in Harpers district (Sun City area) really need to pull
out all the stops on this....

Ladies & Gentlemen,
   
  HB 2595 Amateur Radio Emergency Communications is being held hostage
by Senator Harper of the Senate Government Committee.  In addition
he will not release it from his committee.  There is a slim chance
something can be done yet this year.  Otherwise we will have to wait
til next year and try again.
   
  "It ain't over til we say it's over," Jim Belushi in Animal House. 
So lets flood Senate President Tim Bee with the following type of
message:
   
  To:  tbee at azleg.gov 
  Subject     HB 2595 Amateur Radio Emergency Communications
   
  HB 2595 Amateur Radio Emergency Communications passed the House on a
56 to 2 vote.  We are certain it will pass the Senate if it can get
to the floor.  The bill is good for all districts in our state. 
Unfortunately it is being held hostage by Chairman Harper in the
Govt. Committee and he will not release it.
   
  The bill has enormous support all over the state.  It deals with
Emergency Communications and the role Amateur Radio plays in helping
cities, counties, and the state when disaster strikes.
   
  In all fairness to the millions of Arizonans who will benefit from
this bill, please help us make something good happen.

  Thank you all for your help and efforts.  We have gotten a lot
further than most and we can always come back next year.  But lets
give it one last shot this year.
