As pretending to be a short term weather forcaster in my new job, I have the
opportunity to see an interesting collection of weather related web sites.
One such site for the semi-serious weather junky is _www.wunderground.com_
(http://www.wunderground.com) which is short for weather underground.
This site has two flavors, one is totally free and includes some but not all
the features. The other costs $5.00/year and gives you a username and
password to the more advanced features like storm tracking, radial velocity,
echo-tops and more. Those features are the ones most useful to me as a flight
director, but I am sure that others may tickle your fancy more. Updates appear
in 6 or 10 minute increments for the radar, and typically every 15 or 30
minutes for satellite images.....
If you are a serious weather junky, this is a site to subscribe to.
Have a good weekend
