>Hello All...
>I trust all of you had nice holidays.....
>
>There is a few changes with the way weather alerts will be sent out
>for a host of reasons,,,
>The current alert list server (Phx-Skywarn) will be shut off in the
>next few weeks....
>Because of this, you will NEED TO SIGN UP ON THE NEW LIST ASAP....
>This list mimics what the qth.net list server did.
>We can no longer send mail to the qth.net server due to the security
>settings on that server.
>The svr-spotter listserver should take the place of the qth.net server.
>You will need to tell all of the spotters who wish to receive the wx data
>notification to subscribe to the new list server.
>This list does not archive any data, it just mails the information to the members.
>They will have to be approved by myself, Frank or David Runyan in order to
>belong to the list server.
>Members can post messages to the new listserver.
>------------------------------------------
>County specific List servers -
>http://nws.phx.noaa.gov/mailman/listinfo/
>Spotters can also join the county specific lists to see archived data. It
>is recommended that the member turn off the mail notification for the
>county listservers. The possibility of multiple mailing for one product is
>very likely. Products are disseminated to the lists via county and zone codes.
>Again all members will have to be approved by David Runyan or myself.
>The real benefit to this setup is that any person can belong to their
> appropriate county listserver and turn off the sendmail for that list.
>They can then also belong to the new svr-spotter list and get the mail
> notification. They then have the option of going into the county
>listserver archives for current or old WX data. This will give them total
>flexibility and control over what data they wish to receive.
>So, lets get the new list up and running....
>Please note, this WILL NOT EFFECT THE WX7PHX LIST
>If you have any questions please post to one of the lists
>and we will try to answer asap....
>Please dont remove your address from this server (Phx-SkyWarn)....
>I will leave Phx-Skywarn in hot stand-by till we are sure
>that the new servers will work...
>Thanks...
