Hi Folx -
It would be nice (and complete), if AZ Skywarn Sector 1
(reporting to NWS-Tucson) is included in the AZ Skywarn web site.
This will "fit in" nicely, as NWS-Tucson will "re-activate" our ham radio
spotters for the 2004 season.
Please consider this request - to make Arizona Skywarn a
complete state-wide severe weather reporting function. As you know - in most
instances, the summer monsoon storms usually enter our state in the
southeast sections, and follow a west to north track............
Let's make Arizona Skywarn a complete, "family" function.
73,
Stan

I'd like to bring to everyone attention a new web site that will be serving
those involved with the National Weather Service Skywarn program in Arizona.
The URL is: http://www.arizona-skywarn.org . The concept has been endorsed
by Steve Sipple and David Runyan, both with the National Weather Service
Office in Phoenix. We are looking to build a site that will service the
needs of Skywarn and the National Weather Service.
To make this project a success, we need your participation. We would prefer
that this not be a one-man project but rather, the efforts of many. We need
the following type of assistance.
1. HTML. DHTML, JAVA, PERL programming
2. Web site management
3. Graphic Arts (We need a logo)
4. and those other items you always think of last
Besides the normal sections on educational Skywarn material, we are planning
a Forum, Chat Rooms and NWS Newsletters to name a few. We are also looking
at creating a section(s) to recognize the efforts of Net Controllers and
spotters. For those who have taken remarkable storm photographs, you will
now have a venue to display your efforts.
For the time being, we would like to establish a work group to handle the
basic organizational functions.
Please contact either myself or Steve Sipple for more information. We hope
to hear from you.
Thanks,
Larry Adkins, WB0PDP
