2000 Hrs. (approx.)  Country Club Dr. & University Dr.      WIND DAMAGE
                                 Mesa,  Maricopa County,  AZ

Possible microburst in Central Mesa.  Several high-tension power lines fractured
with lines down on University Dr.  Widespread power outage and scattered debris
covering over a two mile radius from the intersection listed above.  Initial
heavy gusts in the 50-60 MPH (estimated) range from scattered directions leading
to straight line winds at approx. 30 MPH from the Northeast.  Locally heavy rain
with initial gusts, but sporadic. Unknown if any nearby ground contact lightning
activity existed. Little, if any damage to structures or vehicles in the
vicinity sans the aforementioned power lines, various downed trees, a car
dealership's canopy and construction fencing around Westwood H.S.  Weather
noticeably calmer within 20 mins. of event and clear by 2100 hrs. when damage
was observed and reported to WX7PHX on tonight's SkyWarn Net.
