[PCR-1000] Using the PCR on MS Remote Desktop

Gentlemen:

Understandably, this topic may have been covered in the past, thus I 
apologize if my question is a duplication.

I would like to operate my PCR-1000 from atop a 2,300' nearby mountain.  On 
the mountain, my remote computer is an IBM PC with XP Pro and the PCR-1000. 
At the local end, my home, I am operating a Dell with XP Pro.
Operating the remote via the local computer works excellent using MS Remote 
Desktop software.  This part of the challenge is a done deal-  as I have 
total control of the PCR.  I seldom say this.. but I have to take my hat off 
to MS based on this software- it truly is magical!

Okay, now the challenge (putting my hat back on).  After connecting the 
audio output of the PCR to the line-input of the IBM I can hear the audio of 
the PCR via the computer's speakers.  However, there is no audio feed to the 
local Dell at my house.  I have the "Remote Computer Sound" settings of the 
software set for "Bring to this Computer" position.  In fact, if I play a CD 
at the remote IBM, I can hear it on the local Dell speakers.

After searching the web, I have learned that MS Remote Desktop was not 
designed to pipe the audio to the local computer.  The internet has some 
posts regarding software that is available on a special "Server Service Pack 
1", but that is a little out of my league.

Can anyone point me toward a solution to this challenge?  Thanks in advance-
