[PCR-1000] PCR1000 not listening to RS232

 Hi all,
 hope this list is active, I need help with a problem. 
 After so many years, my PCR1000 stopped working.
 It does not respond to any commands, it just once per second 
 keeps repeating "H100" which I think means "Radio is off".
 
 And yes, I have EEPROM backups saved and ready, but none of 
 my restore utilities can make contact with the PCR1000.
 
 If this sounds familiar to you, please give me some hint on 
 what to do. (I have a small display collection of old HAM 
 equipment, maybe the PCR1000 will join that collection now?)
