[PCR-1000] When can we expect the NEW PCR1000?

I had a VR-5000 too and sold it a few months later. I've generally been
happy with Yaesu gear but the VR-5000 was a real disappointment. The
reception wasn't in the class of my AORs and Icoms (or even Unidens) and the
whole radio felt like a prototype. The mil-air band is my main monitoring
target and the receiver did particularly poorly in that area. The manual
was really poorly written, it had an annoying hiss that came through the
speaker and there seemed to be some buggy firmware.

Mine was an early model though and I've heard that they have made
improvements to later units. It felt like a receiver that could have been
something really special if they had just spent a little more time refining
it.
