[PCR-1000] When can we expect the NEW PCR1000?

There hasn't been any news, official or otherwise, about
a replacement for the 1000. No news about anything to take
the place of the R8500 either. For that matter, I haven't
seen any actual announcement that either of these receivers
have been discontinued, but that does seem to be the scuttlebutt.
The rumor mill at Dayton this year was that Icom may be betting out
of the wideband receiver market, although the handhelds seem to
be hanging in there for now. I, for one, sure hope the rumors are
wrong. Icom has produced some great radio toys in the wideband world
and I'd love to see them continue to do so in the future.

P.S. - the one GOOD rumor I heard at Dayton was that Ten Tec was
supposed to have a wideband receiver on the way. No idea is it
will be a black box computer controlled rig or a stand-alone.

Have any news been released when the new/ replacement for the PCR1000 will
be available?
