[PCR-1000] ex2099 software - Think I'll give it a try

Sent the EEPROM data to those that asked, now that I *think* I am done.  

All voltages came out fine, and I did not bother to diddle the AF gains.

The band pass filters (BPF) were what interested me and might have shot myself in the foot not following the Icom instructions in strict order.  Eventually did follow them, and slowly got it all right.  Only seemed to be 2 BPFs that were off much, like 350.02 MHz.  What was really off was S-meter settings, and the flatness of "S9" over the BPF frequency ranges.  Bandscope levels were well off, probably a reflection of the S-meter settings.  They are linked, and if you change one, you best look at the other.  Center tune was off a bit too.

Xtal settings are very insensitive, you really have to go a long way to see it on a freq counter in the 10Hz column.  Left mine at "63" as it looked good there.  Could have used 50-90 and not seen much of any difference.

I did a sweep using a stable signal level from 50-1200 MHz and TalkPCR's spectrum analyzer, and the levels were very consistant across the band, except around 380 MHz.  Dropped about 5 dB there, so I went back and checked the 383.28 and .32 BPF level settings, and sure as hell they were off.  Coulda sworn I did it right, but this was par for the course with Icom's software.

Took me four tries to get it all right, mostly finding spurious settings the program decided to set on it's own, and put the values back right.  Dunno if the radio will act much different, but I feel better knowing I set it all correctly.

Ayn questions, ask away.  And no one should diddle with this progaram unless your are very comfortable using test geat and have the right stuff to do it, and even then I think this program is buggy.  It is version 1.0 after all.  Who knows how many versions came later?  I was very anal checking the levels at every frequency step with the signal generator, and verifying the freq with a counter.  Hopefully it paid off.
