I've been reading the .pdf ex2099 manual, and the procedure looks time consuming, but not difficult, if you have the equipment.

What is interesting though, is the xtal frequency setting is not involved if you have a frequency counter.  Monitor a test point and use the software to tweak the freq. up or down and the xtal frequency is set.  Of course, like most things that sound easy.............
