Isn't the data jack on the back of the unit an IF output ??

Some radios have a jumper inside -- I thought that this jumper selected
either voice output from the amp or data output from the IF

Hello A10382

The 'data jack' on the back of mine is marked "Packet 9600 bps" and is a
discriminator output connection for your TNC. The switch inside is for
controlling the audio output level for a speaker or for line input on a
sound card / headphones.
