[PCR-1000] ??

You must have a proper ground on the rcvr, and preferably on a UPS
controlled power source.  I havent had any problems with the EPROM trashing
itself with this configuration, and this is in the presence of several 100
watt PEP transceivers.

You can de-sense the frontend by putting a preselector on the rcvr, and
simply de-tune it to eliminate any overloads.

A nice little CAT program thats free, is HRD 3.2 authored by Simon Brown.
Its primarily for ham xcvrs, but does support the PCR-1000, as well as the
Ten-Tec RX-350D, andRX-320D receivers.

I have also had "run-ins" with ICOM, over many years.  They NEVER
acknowledge their designs could be faulty.  For that reason, all my other
"gear" is from Yaesu since as far back as the early 70's. :-)
