[PCR-1000] Corrupt memory

I've had my PCR-1000 since 1998.  It's been in essentially 
constant daily use since then, and I've never had any problems
until today, when, after some 6 years, I had my first memory 
corruption. Thanks to a backup made with TalkPCR, I've been 
able to restore the PCR-1000 and everything's fine.  
The moral of this is simply that the memory corruption 
can hit any time - even after 6 years without a problem.

I have no idea what caused the memory corruption - I hadn't been
doing anything unusual.  Examining the contents of the corrupt PCR-1000
memory with TalkPCR, before I'd restored it, it wasn't a simple
error.  About half of the memory contents had spontaneously been replaced
with a Hex80 byte. 

I'm sure that readers of this list have all already backed
up their PCR-1000 EPROM.  I'm certainly glad I had.
