Hi David and all,

Another possibility is interference at I.F. This might not manifest itself 
until you have a signal to interfere with. If you have, or can borrow, a 
conventional RX, connect the antenna ports together (without an antenna) and tune the 
other RX, over its full range, to see what comes out of the PCR-1000.
