[PCR-1000] TalkPCR v2.9 Beta

Sorry Max, I don't agree.
In the same breath, I don't want to start a flame war. This is not the
place.
But all software is not Beta. (with the possible exception of what comes
from Microsoft) :)

Updates are for new features, and yes, sometimes bugfixes.
Believe it or not, In the programming world there are standards.
Alpha releases, Beta releases are meant to signify that the application is a
work in process.
Testing is still being done and features are still being finished.
once this is finished, The product goes gold (since testing and feature work
is completed)
The product is now released to the general public.

This is not to say that bugfixes might need to be released, (IBM calls them
PTF's (Program temporary fixes)) but as a rule work on a product at that
level is stopped.
The next step is to begin work on Version 2.

Like I said before, I've been doing this for a long time and that's the way
I run my shop and any shop that I've been lead.

I agree, a lot of shops don't put out quality software. It seems that money
is more important. But in my shop reputation is the most important.

Do not care about the word "beta", all computer software is "beta" versions,
even my Windows is a "beta", if it was a final, they would not release
updates.

There is no standard for when a release is a beta or not, it is up to
the autor to decide if he want to use the word or not.
