I tried the drivers available on the Prolific USA site and still had
trouble.  Then went to their home support site in Taiwan and had no problem
with their 08-25-2003 Windows XP Certified driver....wd_pl-2303_v20018.zip -
PL-2303 USB to Serial Certified Logo Driver for Windows XP.

Be aware that there is at least on other version available that indicates it
works for XP machines.... it doesn't, some have stability troubles, I did.
That one does however work well with Win 2000.
