not exactly true, 25-35 ft makes a big difference when considering nearby terrain and other blockages and proximity of other RFI

putting it up higher gets it further away from all the RF noise in your house like PC monitors, dimmer switches, fishtank heaters, etc and there could be a huge difference between hearing signals at all for certain bands. Saw a tremendous difference at my location with a roof mounted discone.

also higher isnt always better for HF, NVIS signals are best received with horizontal antennas less than .25 WL above the ground.
