[PCR-1000] New PCR 1000

Hi Folks,

Now I see why the Bonito program will not work, not only was the serial
cable missing but also the little gray thingy that unlocks the program.

The PCR 1000 works great so I will just file the Binito stuff in the round
file.

Does anyone know where I can DL freq.'s so I don't have to manually enter
them? My 60+ year old fingers get numb.

Although I do not recommand Bonito software, -use TalkPCR instead, as
recommanded above, I think your problem is due to the fact you have not
inserted the "dongle" - some sort of small grey plastic piece with two
serial connectors, supposedly delivered with Bonito CD.
Bonito is still protecting his sofware this way. This was fantastic
technology in the 19th century but has proved to be cumbersome to use and
leading to errors. The first time I used it, I forgot to remove it to try
TalkPCR and this has wiped my PCR1000 eeprom. Fortunately I had managed to
save it before doing anything else.
Conclusion:
Save your Eeprom before anything (again TalkPCR is providing a tool to do
it)
Try the dongle and see by yourself Bonito sucks.
