The local pager problem I referred to in a previous thread is mentioned =
in http://www.g4loe.freeserve.co.uk/receptio.htm amongst very many =
others. I guess its also possible that theres a PC processor bus at =
133Mhz close by ?

A solution for the home constructor may be found at David Taylors =
excellent site

tm

David is the "god of weather sat reception" and related. The brain =
behind the calculation engine for SatScape and others.

Of course, one of the many receivers built specifically for the job =
might be best, if a lttle more expensive !!!

Timestep have a complete system solution, but one element worth =
considering is a head-end amplifier built specifically for this job - =
with filtering etc. I have no idea if this will be good enough for your =
local conditions of course.

APT 137 Preamplifier

This preamplifier has 3 separate functions. The first to increase the =
sensitivity of the receiver so that you can receive low passes if you =
want to. The second to recover the loss of the co-ax cable. And the =
third is to provide extra RF filtering which is achieved by an =
additional 3 tuned circuits. The preamplifier fits directly underneath =
the polar antenna.

Hope this helps
