[PCR-1000] Windows XP home and me

Umm... this all feels like some sort of d�j�-vu...
The Icom software works just fine with my Windows XP home.
And no, it does not have anything to do with the toolbar anymore.
Personally i have never had any problems with XP and the icom
software, but thats just me. And i started using XP home rather late
The newest version of the software (i noticed a link here a week
ago or somehing), states that it should work with XP too.
I wont comment about that... i think we all know how badly
icom wanted to keep the window 3.1 software, and then the 95/98.
Suppose its progress ;-)  (at last)

Personally i like the icom software... but i dont really understand
why they still refuse to integrate some sort of eeprom backup utility...
really stupid of them. But perhaps they just refuse to see the problem
(or not wanting to confirm knowing about it).
Thats why i use TalkPCR too. And TalkPCR is getting better and
better... (and the icom software is not, exept for compability...).

And hey, not really the topic... but anyways. If you are using a HP or
Compaq computer, and want to use the SP1 update for XP: Check
to see if your computer really works with SP1 first... My computer
was NOT compatible with SP1 (HP Pavillion), but after downloading
the patch from HP (now also Compaq i suppose), it works fine with
SP1... and yes ;-)  Icom software still works fine.
If one does use the SP1 without the patch ... well, lets just say that
there may be some problems booting.

(PS. I am sorry if some word seems "strange"... i am not used
to write in english... I almost wrote wether instead of whether...
and wether... isn't that a castrated ram... or something?)
