As far as your other question, I never turn off my equipment, So I can't
really tell you.
There are 2 schools of thought on turning on and off equipment.
Heating, cooling, component power surges, those types of concerns.
I've always left all my stuff on. Unless there is a thunderstorm close. But
I have everything on big UPS's and I can't be here all the time.

Someone else care to chime in?

Should the receiver be turned on when the computer is booted-up or after?
