[PCR-1000] Re: EEPROM BACKUP

I am a new PCR-1000 owner.  I am using the Bonito software supplies by Icom.
After reading some posts in the archives,I am trying to backup the eeprom
using SavePCR1000 ("SPCR") downloaded from the Bonito site.  I am running
the savePCR from the 3.5" drive using Windows XP.

When I hit the "automatic COM Port button I get a message "unable to find
PCR1000 connected? powered on?"

It's connected, on and listening to a local BC station.

The documentation on the PCR-1000 is virtually nonexistant!

Can anyone provide any assistance or suggestions for help in trying to
backup the eeprom?

When manually selecting the COM port, only COM 3 will respond, but even when
manually selected to COM 3, when I click "Save to File" I get an "unable to
read from PCR1000 EEPROM" message.  I really don't understand com port
selection - I just loaded the Bonito software and everything seemed to work
very well "automatically."

Thanks for any suggestion as to how to proceed.
