[PCR-1000] Help, Aerial issue?

my friend used the MFJ-1046 with his PCR-1000 with good results with his long 
wire to fix the overload problems and was happy with the results. now he 
bought a wellbrooke HF loop and doesnt have to use it anymore and he loves 
the perrformance of the antenna.

I am also using a discone wide open without many problems but will get the 
wellbrooke soon for better performance in low end
