[PCR-1000] Need to ground

Everyone has their own standard. I am tied to my ham station ground which is
2 10 ft copper rods 40 ft apart bonded with bare #6, these are connected to
the base of the tower at the 20 ft mark via a copper ground window (1/2"
square copper bar with holes and set screws, 4 inches long.) The bare #6
then runs to the MGN (multi ground neutral) of the power company ground rod
(AFTER verifying these were no Resistance OR current differentials) From the
ground window there is a piece of insulated #6 in the shortest and
straightest path possible to the shack to another ground window bar. All
chassis are connected to this bar with insulated #10. All wire is solid
copper with crimped on lugs on the equipment. Also all coax cables on the
tower take three 360 degree loops and are ty-wrapped to a tower leg before
going into the house. Lightning does not like to make turns. The top
antennas pass through PolyPhaser hardware before making the loops. These are
bonded to the window with bare #6. This arrangement has worked for me for
thirty years at at least 10 different houses with NO problems. There were
more ground rods when I lived in South Fla as the ground is sandy and not a
good conductor but then the rods were in water. Graybar is a good supplier
of rods, the one's at Home Depot are copper plated steel and not 10 feet.
They also sell the Fargo connectors (oval with a V and set screw) I also
coat all connections with a product called NO-OX-ID"A" to ensure no
corrosion develops (Stuff looks like wheel bearing grease). I also know of
some hams that do nothing like this and have had no problems and I know of
some that have been smoked. I just like to engineer and build things...

I need to ground my unit and i was wondering what type wire did everyone use
to ground theirs? I bought myself a grounding rod but I need to know what
type of wire.
