[PCR-1000] grounding

Your radio is pretty much grounded through the power and computer
connections.
 However, going right to 'earth' bypasses (shorts out) to ground noises
picked up through electrical ground.
 Best termed as an 'RF ground'. The heavier, the better. I use RG8, with
an
SO-239 brazed to the grounding rod.
   And YES, it's quieter. Especially on lower frequencies. (The ones
most
bothered by appliance noise.)

I am wondering if anyone has grounded their pcr-1000 to their house
ground
rather than actually grounding it to physical earth?  I want to ground
my
receiver, but running a cable to the earth from my room is kind of
impracticle, though I could do it if really need be.

How much of an improvement of reception have people noticed with
grounding?
