[PCR-1000] AM Band reception

Hello,

  if  a  preselector is needed, I warmly suggest to try the one described by The
  Bavarian  Contest  Club (http://www.bavarian-contest-club.de/) in the Projects
  section  (in  english,  plenty  of good pics); there are d-loadable additional
  details (in german) where you can find (along with PCB, components list, etc.)
  astonishing performance graphs of the filter. For me it works very well on HF
  and EU AM band with given values, the only mod I did was to include an option
  to switch on-off the Z transformers.

  For  AM  DXing  I had very good results with the "carpet loop antenna" made by
  LAN type flat cable.

  UT-106 with additional filtering provided by DSP software like Silicon Pixel's
  "ChromaSound" or aR5's "SR5" greatly enhances the sigs readability.
