No, I am not transmitting on the T2FD, so the termination resistor
is a 1W carbon type.

The LP yagi is 10 m above the ground.

Yes, for most purpose they are, if the length is not over 20 m.

Several, and they are of some use. Wire antennas is all right to use
if you live out in the open country, but in city areas with a lot
of man made noise and local broadcasting stations they can be a problem
concerning noise and overloading. Here a short whip antenna with a
good preamplifier can come in as a winner over the long wire.

I have build one, it is made with a 80 cm. 10 mm. aluiminium tube
as the whip and with a broad band preamp. The pre amp is giving
8 dB in the range 20 kHz to 600 Mhz, it is made with a BF981 at
the input amd with a MMIC amp MSA1104 at the output. It is working
good and in the LF area it is surprisingly good.

But as I mentioned before, when using the PCR below 30MHz, some
kind of preselector is a must.
