[PCR-1000] Digital mode reception using the PCR1000

Your usual video monitor will work fine.  The software you have, and a few
others available (like hamscope) just require that you run audio cables
from the appropriate PCR1k output to the line input on the soundcard of your
computer.  For PSK31, RTTY, CW, and "low-speed" protocols, you need to use
the speaker/headphone output of the radio.  For higher-speed vhf/uhf
protocols like packet, pocsag, or trunk systems, you'd use the discriminator
output on the radio (on the other side of the serial connector from the
speaker output). Either way, you'll need to tell your programs which
soundcard input to use, and set the input gain with windows' recording
volume
control.

I have a soundcard with enough input ports to have both audio and
discriminator lines plugged in simultaneously, with audio routed to the
computer's speakers, and simply have the software select which input to use
when decoding low-bandwidth fax/rtty/sstv/cw or high-bandwidth
packet/pocsag/
trunking protocols.

Hope this gives you an idea of how it works.
