This is really strange Joe,  It's got me baffled too...
After you press the Trunk Button, the BandScope display show disappear and
it shold immediately start searching.  The Display will show a scrolling
"Searching........"
message.  Busy should go out and the text to the right of "Busy" should be
"SRCH".
The sound is muted until it stops on a Group.

If you are able to see an avg of 50% of One's and have 100% recovery while
it's
in search mode and being able to see the dump & control channel info ok,
then
it shouldn't be a sound card issue...

Let's try this,  Zip up the TrunkPcr1k.ini file along with .Bnk, .Trk and
.Rcv files
for one of the banks you are trying to scan.  Maybe they will hold a clue???
