Since a few weeks (or months?) Icom has been delivering the PCR-1000 with
Bonito's Radiocom 4 software instead of Icom's own control software.
I am encountering a problem which I have brought to the attention of Bonito
but which Bonito does not feel they wish or can answer.
a) everything seems to work fine withe the Bonito V 4 software except
scanning. The prescribed procedure is to make a frequency entry with a start
and a stop frequency and then to select "Scan". I tried this with various
combinations. For instance 88 Mhz to 106 Mhz. The scan starts - not at 88
Mhz but a few kHz lower, then goes up to about 88.3, then stops.
No such problem with TalkPC for instance which scans wonderfully. Is this
possibly a Radicom V 4 bug. I reported this to Bonito, ask for a bug fix -
no answer. They seem to concentrate on support for V 5.1
b) Bonito in their op instruction says there are third part vendors /
sources for frequency lists that can be read by the PCR-100. I checked.
There is ONE in the US and the frequency lists are of purely academic
interest for anyone living in Europe for instance. Any ideas. Unfortunately
ILG etc. do not make any lists that match the structure of those for the
PCR-1000 and I am thinking of coding a small dBase program to convert lists
but hey, before I do that maybe someone else has a solution already. Again I
asked Bonito for the many sources they claimed exist but again - zilch.
