[PCR-1000] PCR1000 news from dayton hamvention

an icom rep at the dayton hamvention told me saturday that they are 
definately updating the PCR1000 software due to Win2000 and XP 
compatibility issues.  he didn't seem to know if any additional 
features/changes would be made to the software.

on another note, i witnessed Optoelectronics' Digital Scout in action, 
directly reaction-tuning a PCR1000 to nearfield frequencies it 
detected.  the unit also allows manual volume and squelch adjustments to 
the PCR1000 also.  no interface is required--it's built into the $50 cable.
