There is a 50-kHz position that's certainly wide enough for weather 
satellites.  There are also geostationary satellite rebroadcasts on some HF 
fax stations -- they're only updated a couple of times a day but some days 
the polar satellite passes won't be convenient for you either, not to mention 
that some of the satellites are flaky.
